We rent a very small 2 BR house in the Rocky Mountains. Winter propane bills are a killer. We bought this heater to reduce our use of propane. We set the house thermostat at 60 and the Infrared heat at 70. Together they keep the house around 65 degrees. The heater came on immediately and has been running 24/7 ever since (about 2 weeks). So it is reducing propane use but it's definitely a supplementary heat source.
